About My Role
These weren't four separate briefs. Emirates ran a huge digital estate (a global website, two native apps, a pilot-training platform, a service desk) with no shared design language, and it shipped on a quarterly cycle.
I built the component system that let a piece of UI behave the same on emirates.com, iOS, and Android, so we could design it once and ship it everywhere. Alongside it, EmPact, our agile pilot, took releases from quarterly to fortnightly. The design system kept things consistent, EmPact kept them fast, and each made the other easier.
Impact & Results
- 14% more featured-fares traffic on emirates.com, with matching lifts in the apps.
- 43% jump in mobile-app engagement.
- Quarterly to fortnightly release cadence, once the sprints landed.
- One design system now shared across the Emirates and Dnata brands.
