Xbox Series X
The best way to stay connected with friends spread across different time zones.
Gaming for me isn't really about the games — it's the session with people. The Xbox became how I stay in touch with friends who are scattered across the country and overseas. Forza Horizon, CoD, whatever's free on Game Pass this month. The console is almost secondary to the ritual of the session.
The Series X is serious hardware though. Load times that used to be long enough to make tea are under 30 seconds for most titles. Quick Resume lets me switch between three games without loading screens, which sounds like a minor feature until you use it every day and then can't go back.
Game Pass is the real product. The library rotation keeps things fresh without the pressure of committing to a title you're unsure about. I've played things I'd never have bought outright that became favourites. The subscription model makes sense for the way I game — infrequent but varied.
It doubles as a media hub. Plex, Disney+, and YouTube all run through it on the TV. The remote is overengineered but the Xbox app on iPhone fills in fine.
