Logitech Brio 4K Webcam
Overkill for most calls, but image quality that's noticeably better even to people on the other end.
Moved to the Brio after two years on a cheap 1080p cam that made video calls look like I was dialling in from 2015. The jump to 4K with proper HDR handling is visible even to people watching at 720p — the dynamic range and colour accuracy are just better, and people notice without knowing why.
The auto-exposure is the feature that earns it for my situation. My desk faces a window and the light changes through the day. The Brio adjusts continuously without washing me out against the backlight. I stopped thinking about lighting, which was the goal.
The 90-degree field of view option is what I use for calls — wide enough to show the desk setup without going fish-eye. The zoom-in preset is cleaner for a tight talking-head frame. Both are switchable in the Logi Options+ app without fiddling with system settings.
The built-in mic is acceptable for standups. I switch to the ATH-M50x with an audio interface for anything where audio quality actually matters, but for daily calls the Brio handles it.
